spray foam insulation benefits

Ener-Spray Group of Companies is committed to providing the highest quality and installation services for various types of insulation. We offer these types of insulation:

Polyurethane Spray Foam

As a spray foam industry pioneer, Ener-Spray has the qualifications and experience to recommend which product works best for different applications and budgets. Spray foam insulation pays for itself and generates savings of up to 50% in energy costs for the lifetime of your project.

2lb Spray Foam

2LB CCMC BASF Walltite commercial and residential spray foam.

2lb medium density Ener-Spray foam acts as a vapour barrier, insulation and air barrier all in one. Ener-spray has achieved the “Foam Master” certification through BASF.

Some benefits of 2lb medium density foam are:

  • Adheres directly to the substrate by forming a seamless and permanent coverage over and around even the most complex shapes.
  • Expands to 40 times its liquid volume as it expands, sealing cracks, joints, and protrusions such as brick ties.
  • Forms a continuous insulating air barrier that remains for the life of the building.
  • Typical R-values = 6.5 to 7 per inch, depending on thickness. It is one of the highest R-values per inch of any insulating material.
  • Reduces energy costs while improving building comfort and indoor air quality.
  • Keeps out dust and other exterior pollutants
  • Suitable for interior, exterior and below-grade applications. Some examples are exterior envelope insulation jobs, interior insulation between stud walls, air seals, underground pipes and external foundation insulation.
  • Does not require an additional vapour barrier when applied at the specified minimum depth.
  • Non-toxic and green. It contains no ozone-depleting chemicals such as CFCs, HCFCs, fibres, formaldehyde and asbestos.
  • Permanent and sturdy. No harmful fibres or gases can escape into the air in the future.
  • Adds structural strength and increases shear and racking strength by 300% to a building.
  • Qualifies for LEED credits and is crucial in building an energy-efficient project.

1/2lb Spray Foam

1/2lb low-density spray foam is spray-applied as a liquid and expands within seconds to 120 times its liquid volume. They are typically used in residential applications such as cold floors over garages.

Some benefits of 2lb medium density foam are:

  • R-value = 3.5
  • Cost-effective
  • Acts as an insulation and air barrier
  • Excellent STC ratings
  • Works well with floors or walls with many pipes and ducts in the area
  • Not affected by time and temperature changes
  • Meets all building code requirements
  • Non-toxic and green. It contains no ozone-depleting chemicals such as CFCs, HCFCs, fibres, formaldehyde and asbestos.
  • Permanent and sturdy. No harmful fibres or gases can escape into the air in the future.
  • Reduces airborne noise and dust. A healthy choice for those who suffer from allergies, asthma or chemical sensitivity.

Thermacoustic Glass-fibre Insulation

Thermacoustic TC-417 & Monoglass are Glass-Fibre non-combustible insulation products. It is commonly applied in commercial concrete slabs such as parkade ceilings, exterior soffits, and areas needing noise reduction.

Glass-Fibre is a natural fire retardant and needs no additional thermal barrier. Having completed 300 large commercial projects, Ener-Spray is highly experienced in Glass-Fibre insulation.

Thermal Barrier

Spray Foam Insulation must be covered with a ULC listed thermal barrier when left exposed in an occupied space.
